Take on a new challenge and hone your skills!

The Mino-oki branch is located in the southern part of Fukuyama City, Hiroshima Prefecture. At its center is the Fukuyama Port International Container Terminal, and in the hinterland is the Mino-oki Logistics Center, a two-story ambient temperature warehouse with a 20-ton overhead crane. In the eastern part of Fukuyama City is the Fukuyama Logistics Center, which has a four-story temperature-controlled warehouse attached, and in the western part of Fukuyama City is the Matsunaga Logistics Center, which also has a four-story temperature-controlled warehouse attached. In 2022, the Matsuhama Bumperpool began operations in Mihara City, and is used for the storage of special containers dedicated to wood pellets for the Takehara Thermal Power Plant.

I asked people who actually work there.

Please tell me your main cargo handling duties.

Our handling of a wide range of products includes steel raw materials and components for steel mills, materials for shipbuilding manufacturers, receiving and unloading heavy goods, packaging, as well as receiving and shipping domestic rice and MA rice, dewatering timber, integrated import and export of textiles, and transportation services. Furthermore, in 2020, we opened the Matsuhama Bumper Pool, which can store 950 special containers for wood pellets used as fuel for the Takehara Thermal Power Plant, and began transportation and storage services, playing a part in reducing the power plant's CO₂ emissions.

What kind of characteristics do successful people possess?

The Mino-oki branch handles a wide variety of tasks, and to broaden the scope of each employee's responsibilities, we are promoting the acquisition of qualifications (such as Highway Work Supervisor, Transportation Manager, and Oxygen Deficiency/Sulfurization Supervisor). Accordingly, we are also actively implementing job rotations. Employees who have been transferred are proactively taking on new challenges, and communication within the branch has also been revitalized. Moving forward, we aim to expand our business and are looking to actively pursue new ventures in addition to our existing operations.

Are there any events or community involvement unique to this location?

In November 2025, fifth-grade students from Itozaki Elementary School, located near our Matsuhama Bumper facility, visited our facility as part of their community development studies. The students observed cargo handling operations and received explanations about the actual work processes. This initiative is part of our CSR activities, aiming for harmony and coexistence with the local community as a key player in the local area, and it was a valuable opportunity to contribute to the children's learning.
